Frijoles Negros Batman!

Black Bean Soup

Black beans
Sauteéd red onions w/ cumin, adobo, chipotle
1/2 cup of milk

Reduce the shit out of it.

The Occam's Razor of Culinarica. No, don't mess with it. It's already proven. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel. It's the simple things in life really. Something as simple as black beans, water, onions, light spicing and careful attention to detail can make something delicious.

Pasta!

Orecchiette w/:

Sun Dried Tomatoes (homemade)
Italian Sausage
Sauteéd Onions & Broccoli Rabe
Shaved Aged Provolone
Drenched in Olive Oil

Enjoy With: A heavy white wine, Sauvignon Blanc, or a Syrah (red) to offset the sweet/salty taste of the pasta dish.

Oh, yea, pasta. I forgot about that one. I can't remember the last time I actually made pasta. I mean, is there really anything amazing about pasta? It's noodles for christ sake. And what's with the hundreds of varieties? Each pasta type is like a 16 year old girl. You meet one, you've met them all. But in reality, I am wrong. There IS a difference. That difference is you. Growing up on cheap pasta, canned sauce, and ground turkey, I kinda learned to hate it. It never really "made it move" for me. But that was until I was schooled in the vast abyss of cookery and imagination. Now, pasta can be fun! Also, pasta fits perfectly for winter cookery because I can stock up on it, re-heat and eat for days! Every now and then, I'll go back to noodles, ground turkey, and red sauce. It's like going home.

For Indy:
Eggs, pees, sausage, and some leftover kibble.

Date Hazelnut Pudding (English style)

Hazelnut Liqouer

Sliced Dates

For Indy:
Ground Turkey and Sweet Potato

I know what you're saying. 'Where the fuck's the fish!?!". Well, I'm broke right now and the "good" fish is expensive. Also, I need to make these stew type dishes because it's winter right now and in winter I hibernate. I'll sit and digest stew for days like a North American Bear. There'll be plenty of pescado y maiz to go around when spring/summer hits. Even a shellfish tower! Who wouldn't want a shellfish tower?

Leftovers

Leftovers

I make enough for about 4 days in the wintertime. So tonight it's leftovers.

Lots of KB snatches, Pull-Ups, and KB front squats.

Kushari

Well, not exactly traditional Kushari. An Egyptian dish for the masses, usually vegetarian, this would be equal to America's chili, or beef stew. Suit, burqa, jeans, rags, Coptic, Muslim, this plethora of assorted spices and foods knows no boundaries. A mouth is a mouth and this dish gets the job done very well.
I changed it up a bit and added some ground turkey since it was in my fridge and in need of being eaten. Here's the layout:

Rice or Lentils, or both as a base,
Noodles
Chickpeas
Tomato sauce
Beets
Caramelized Onions (Big slices)
Drench these components in as of the following as you can:

Cumin
Garlic
Chili Pepper
Cinnamon
Basil
Paprika
A dash of curry

Enjoy on the side some homemade hummus.

For Indy:
Tuna in oil, chickpeas, 1/4 of avocado. Yum.

Maybe Mom Had the Right Idea

Eggplant Zucchini Parmigiana

Sliced Eggplant lightly breaded and cooked in olive oil
Sliced Zucchini
Go nuts with Italian spices
Homemade sauce
thinly sliced mozzarella

Okay, maybe it doesn't sound healthy... but it is. When you refuse to use any of the following:
Trans Fat
High Fructose Corn Syrup
Preservatives/chemically altered foods
Non-organics
Anything from a bottle/bag/box...

I mean really, c'mon. Of all the exquisite fine French cooking there is out there, or all the decadent Tapas joints, or any sushi containing fish imported directly from the Japanese seas, who can argue with mom's classics? Who cares if their ratio of carb/protein/fat is not proportionate to your "rent-a-trainers" little pamphlet on health. Don't tell me there's too much sugar in tomato sauce! Maybe there's too much sugar in your tomato sauce, if you're eating Ragu.

Shut up and enjoy it. Most foods that aren't healthy, originally emerged from a healthy recipe. Now they're just made to last.

Today: Deadlift 3x70%1RM, 3x80%, >3x90%, Press, 3x70%1RM, 3x80%, >3x90%
